Anticipation for an event to come

It feels like only a few weekends ago that I was at the last edition of Oan de Voart. Apparently, a whole year has passed since then. Wow, time really does fly!

Tonight’s programme features a fine selection of bands, with a mix of well-known and lesser-known artists. The latter get the chance to showcase their music to a wider audience, which is one of the things I really like about this festival.

My favourites tonight are Hukkelfukkers. This band has been performing in the Kempen dialect for about twenty years. They couldn’t be a better fit for a festival like this!

And of course, there’s local celebrity Tijs Vanneste. A creative jack-of-all-trades: tattoo artist, musician and TV programme maker. There doesn’t seem to be much this man can’t do!

I’m going to take it easy for the rest of the day and save my energy for tonight. It’ll probably be well past my bedtime by the time I get home. So much for my beauty sleep!
