Moderation can happen at both the Crew level and the platform level. Crew moderation helps Owners manage the published Stories connected to their own Crew, while Encore may take broader action when content, behaviour, or deliberate misuse of shared Artist or Event records violates these guidelines or platform rules.
A Crew Owner may hide a published Story from normal reader access. The Story remains published and owned by its original Writer. The Writer keeps editing access and can see the moderation reason and any optional note supplied by the Crew Owner.
While a Story is hidden, ordinary readers cannot access it and new Reads and Encores are paused. The original Writer and active Crew Owner can still review the Story. Restoring it returns the Story to its existing Public or Crew-only visibility.
Canonical Artist and Event records are shared parts of Encore's archive. Duplicate, misleading, or inaccurate records may be corrected, merged, or otherwise maintained independently of whether action is taken against the member who introduced them.
Separate platform-level actions may be taken based on the seriousness, context, and history of a violation. These actions may include:
- Providing guidance or issuing a warning.
- Correcting or consolidating shared archive information.
- Limiting the visibility of content.
- Removing content from the platform.
- Restricting access to particular features.
- Suspending or terminating an account.
- Taking immediate action where safety is at risk.
We may consider whether a violation was accidental, repeated, targeted, deceptive, or likely to cause serious harm. A disagreement with a Crew moderation decision or a good-faith mistake in shared archive information does not by itself mean that someone has violated these guidelines.
